Taxpayers Assistance Center is NOT a part of the Internal Revenue Service, the New Jersey Division of Taxation, the New York Department of Taxation or any other government group.
Tax attorneys, accountants, and enrolled agents volunteer to help Taxpayers Assistance Center clients.
Taxpayers Assistance Center Volunteers will discuss your case with you and tell you if you are eligible for The Taxpayers Assistance Center services. Even if Taxpayers Assistance Center does not accept your case, we will try to give you some advice about what you can do to help yourself solve your tax problem.
Taxpayers Assistance Center helps New Jersey and New York residents whose incomes are too low for them to hire professional help. People with income under the larger of $54,000 or 250% of the federal poverty guidelines receive help for free. Although our service is free, all clients must pay out of pocket expenses such as court filing fees and service of process.
